1.Initial preparation. Let's start from the basics! Ceiling decor in our case can be done using two types of paint: latex and acrylic. I do not recommend using others, their absorbent properties will interfere with the implementation of the solutions below.

I am sure you know that a carefully prepared base is the key to success in any decorative work. Although sometimes certain finishing methods allow you to have small defects on the surface, as they subsequently hide them.

2.Aluminum decor. The application of aluminum foil requires very good preparation of the substrate. There should be no stains or cracks on the ceiling, otherwise after finishing all flaws will be visible at a glance! So, to decorate the ceiling, you will need a special roll of aluminum, latex paint and varnish. Now, step by step! Begin by applying a layer of pale gray latex paint to the ceiling. Then the foiling process should be performed.

To do this, measure the required length from the roll and separate the aluminum foil from the backing. Then attach it to the ceiling. The paper backing on the back will allow the sheet to stick to the paint. It remains to carefully smooth the foil over the entire surface and apply acrylic varnish. All!

3.Stencil painting. It is believed that the stencil is used around the perimeter of the room, in the corners or in the form of a central ornament. But you can place patterns over the entire surface of the ceiling. This will make the drawing more visible and impressive.

First you need to define the center. If the room has one ceiling lamp, then it can be used as a starting point for decor. If there are several lamps in the room, then find the "geographic center", the middle of the length and width. Then line the entire ceiling with perpendicular lines to the size of the stencil (it is better to draw them with a pencil with a barely visible line).

Then you need to spray special glue (temporary) on the back of the template, glue the stencil to the ceiling and apply paint. Repeat this step several times until you have covered the entire ceiling. Actually, that's it!

4.Leopard print. This decor will look original in almost any room of your home. In addition, its unusual coloring will allow you to hide minor minor defects. The main difficulty with this technique is to apply spots in one direction. Therefore, before painting the ceiling, practice on a piece of paper. So the probability of spoiling the surface is reduced to zero.

So, the leopard pattern is created in two layers! The first step is to make the background by painting the ceiling. While it is still damp, dot with a brownish beige paint. It needs to be slightly retouched, creating a color transition. This will create a sub-layer of the stain. Then the ceiling must be left to dry completely.

Then, using a small brush, apply black paint around the red spots. By the way, do the coloring for three quarters, so you get the perfect pattern.

5.Drapery illusion. An effective solution for both a hallway and a small bedroom. To implement this idea, you will need to visually break the entire ceiling into separate sections. Each sector is colored separately. This will keep the paint damp throughout the entire operation.

First paint the center with dark paint. And then draw a line towards the wall. On top of the dark shade and slightly to the side of it, apply a lighter shade. You need to act quickly so that the paint does not dry out. Make smooth color transitions from one to another in the place of overlay.

Now apply white paint from the wall on top of the painted area. It needs to be led to the center, gradually narrowing it down. Be careful not to mix the paints completely!

The work is creative, difficult, but the result is worth it!
