Each country, of course, has its own peculiarities in the arrangement of everyday life, in architecture, interior and exterior of apartments and houses, which can surprise foreigners very much.
Let's take a look at an Italian apartment, for example. Do you know what you will never see there? And you will not see wallpaper there. Yes, it is customary to paint walls in Italian apartments and houses. Moreover, paint mainly with white paint, without creating any combinations or patterns (sometimes other light shades are also possible). In sunny Italy, apartments with snow-white walls create the illusion of space and lightness. Plus - it is very practical, because keeping the walls perfectly clean in our time, in the presence of persistent and easily washable paints, is not difficult at all.
At the same time, Italians are very fond of decorating the walls of their apartments and houses with family photographs. For some, these photographs are framed with simple, strict frames, for others - with ornate frames of silver or golden color. This is what preferences the owners have.
Italians also love to decorate their houses and apartments with paintings, also in large numbers. You can often see icons on the walls.
Tables, shelves and bedside tables are often decorated with statuettes of saints, for example, the Madonna, as well as various vases, candlesticks and other souvenirs.
What else can you see interesting in the apartment of an Italian family? Flooring. These are most often tiles, usually in brown and beige tones. And again, practical, durable and easy to care for.
Another feature is the absence of a hallway. The front door opens and you find yourself immediately in the living room. This layout is especially common in modern homes. In the buildings of the 80s and 90s, small hallways were still provided.
