Chemical soil reclamation is a process in which the acid-base balance is controlled soils and taking measures to improve the quality of soils, by introducing mineral fertilizers.

The fundamental of these measures is to use lime mixtures-fertilizers, which include different types of lime.

Lime, in turn, consists of hydroxides, magnesium and calcium carbonates. The amount of lime that needs to be applied depends on the initial acidity of the soil, for example:

- for sour-500-700g per 1 sq.m.
- for neutral - 400g per 1sq.m
- for alkaline-200-300g per 1 sq.m
Lime fertilizers are of 2 types: industrially obtained and local fertilizers.

Industrial fertilizers

These include chalk, dolomite flour, dolomitized limestone and dolomite - all of which are sedimentary rocks dating back to prehistoric times.

Industrial fertilizers contain more calcium and magnesium in their composition. The most interesting thing is that in rocks that contain more magnesium, the breed dissolves worse there, but this is reflected positively on plants.

Local fertilizers

Lacustrine lime (drywall), marl, peat, natural dolomite flour - all these rocks are soft in composition, so they do not require much effort to break them.

Drywall, peat and marl are sedimentary rocks of local dried-up water bodies, and dolomite flour is a product of natural erosion of dolomite. In terms of efficiency, local fertilizers are less effective than industrial ones.

When should you use fertilizers?

These activities can be carried out in principle at any time of the year, but the main feature is worth noting that it is worth introducing fertilizers with deep digging of the soil. Try to do all this in calm weather so that the lime does not escape from the gusts of wind.
