A fence made of a board is a banal fence with a boring look. But in this article I will try to dispel these beliefs by showing several examples of how you can get a unique and beautiful look for your fence from ordinary boards 25 or 50 mm thick. Moreover, it will be two-sided - with the same surface and you and from the side of a neighbor or road. This is a wicker fence:

Option with vertical and horizontal boards. When edging with a board, covered with wood impregnation in a different color, the view is even more expressive. The contrast is always heightening.

A simple fence with pipe posts and board filling. But the interlacing of the boards in a vertical position gives it a more attractive and not "worn-out" look. Moreover, from both sides the same type of filling the spans and at the price of an ordinary edged board.

Another option is the horizontal arrangement of the boards. For weaving, you will need bars - one or two per span. A bend occurs around them. Some people use WPC (wood-polymer composite) instead of boards. The material option is not cheap, but does not require regular coating with impregnations. But if you have only 2-3 spans - a durable and interesting option for the front part of the fence.

Fence boards without concrete tape are not recommended to be screwed to metal posts with self-tapping screws. If the pillars "play" from frost heaving, then the screws will rip off. It is better to close the joints of the boards with a vertical board. It turns out, in fact, a fence without nails.

This option has a drawback: it is very easy to climb on it. Although, you can climb over any fence.

Usually, in this configuration, a "braid" is made from rails in arbors. But a fence of 25 looks very nice and exclusive with this arrangement of boards. The main thing for covering the board is not to choose the impregnation of dark colors. Resin will come out on the sunny side of the fence and ruin the surface. But on the light one it will not be visible.

For fences and facades, choose an alkyd-based impregnation - it penetrates deeper into the wood and will protect longer. You will have to renew the fence covering in 5-7 years.
