I share the old folk method of feeding Potatoes into the hole. Thanks to him, you will collect a Bucket of vegetables from a bush
Potatoes are a simple vegetable in the kitchen and difficult in the garden. I have always disliked her a little because I had to plant almost the entire plot with it - otherwise I would not grow enough stocks. But you also need to leave room for other cultures ...
But one day, having got into a conversation with a neighbor, who managed to feed the whole family with vegetables from a small plot, I found out what you need to put in the hole when planting potatoes in order to collect a whole bucket from each bush! I think this secret is worth sharing.
It all starts with the preparation of potato beds. Here, of course, everyone has their own preferences - what to add, but in any case, if the soil is clayey or prone to stagnant water, in the place where the potato hole will be, you need to add 1/3 of the sand when digging.
Contrary to popular myth, potatoes are a very “capricious” culture! She needs both mineral and organic fertilizers. The former accelerate its vegetation cycle, the latter generally increase soil fertility.
In order not to mess around with stirring repeatedly, I prepare the potato fertilizing agent for all the holes at once, mixing its components in one container. Further, I indicate all the components based on 1 hole.
But if you miscalculate a little and, as a result, distribute over more planting holes than planned, this is not a big deal!
Ash comes first - the best complex mineral fertilizer! We take it 0.5 cups. Add 1 tbsp to the ash. l. superphosphate and 2 tsp. l. potassium nitrate. Now you need to add organic matter and the choice is wide - 0.2 kg of peat and humus or 1/3 of a bucket of compost.
Next, the prepared dressing should be distributed over the holes and thoroughly mixed with the ground - because the tubers themselves, when planting, should in no case come into contact with fertilizers in their pure form.
The potato tubers laid out in the holes should be sprinkled with ordinary earth, to the top, forming a small mound. And if it does not rain immediately after planting, it is necessary to thoroughly water the beds.
A fat plus of this method is that it is suitable for all types of soil and all varieties of potatoes, both the earliest and the latest. In addition, planting top dressing allows you to safely reduce the amount of fertilizer applied by about 50% in the future.
Tubers of the new harvest ripen large, neat, mature and very tasty!
