The neighbor's Bow goes to Strelka, but I don't. I tell you how I achieved this without much hassle
Growing onions is a real art! There are many tricks and means for it to grow large, juicy, with a long keeping quality, piquant on turnip and feather. But perhaps the main question is how to prevent him from going into the shooter?
Honestly, my neighbor tortured me with this question and after thinking it over, I decided that sharing the secrets of truck farming is still right!
And first of all, I want to note that the planting onion material must be stored in one of two ways:
1. Cold - the temperature is stably maintained within -1 ...- 3 ° С.
2. Cold-warm - after harvesting, it lies indoors at + 20 ° С, and in winter the temperature drops to -1 ...- 3 ° С. Further, in the spring, the onions need to be warmed up at + 30 ° C for 2-3 days and stored at + 20 ° C until planting.
A frozen onion is susceptible to shooting, as well as one that was stored without regular analysis with the sifting of rotten turnips. High humidity can also provoke early flowering.
But the planted onions, on the contrary, should not be dry. The fact is that unfavorable conditions provoke the plant to "leave offspring" as soon as possible. After each regular watering, the soil of the onion bed should be soaked to a depth of 20 cm.
When I am going to plant onion sets, for the prevention of shooting, I pre-soak it for 2-3 hours in a solution of 1 tbsp. l. table salt and 1 liter of water. Then be sure to dry the onions.
For normal development without early shooting, onions need fertile soil. If the site itself is not the same initially, then in early spring 1 sq. m. beds, it is recommended to introduce 2 kg of mature humus.
The bow can be saved even when the first rudiments of arrows are seen in the beds, not overgrown with lengths of 20-30 cm.
Then it is not too late to break them, retreating from the ground by 4-5 cm and you need to act with your hands, because when working with pruning shears, garden shears, onions are sluggishly restored and risk getting sick.
A certain rule of crop rotation also saves from shooting - by planting the onion in one place, the next year its beds must be transferred to another. Re-cultivation on one section of the plot is allowed no more than once every 4 years.
Finally, I will share another trick - the least prone to shooting are onion varieties that have a golden skin color, and the most prone to shooting are colored red and purple.
