The better to insulate the connections in the junction boxes. Time showed
In his youth, he was fond of radio amateurism, and when it was necessary to connect the wire, he soldered the ends, which he insulated with PVC electrical tape. At that time, I did not understand at all why I needed a rag tape (HB) until I ran into an electrician. In the distribution boxes I met only her, and I also thought why, because pvc is much more convenient. Then I began to come across twists, insulated pvc, which, from overheating, slipped into unsightly rags.
Recent case
A neighbor called, her connections sparkled in the box, and the "light" disappeared, arrived, that's what I saw. Due to poor contact, and overload, the PVC insulating tape melted, and the contact also disappeared. The danger is that insulation will be lost and possibly a short circuit that could lead to a fire. By the way, in the last photo, a similar case on the same day, only with a different owner.
I had to cut off the electrical tape, twist the twists, and additionally strengthen them with screw terminals. If you insulate the connection with an insulating tape made of HB, then the probability of a short circuit in the box disappears, since this insulation keeps temperatures well and does not melt. Therefore, when insulating in switchboxes, I always use it, since it has been tested by time, like flax on threaded connections in plumbing.
And the neighbor, through vending machines, will redistribute the load to three groups, to the boiler, air conditioner and kitchen, and another owner will also have to do it.
