The strawberries are already blooming. What I advise everyone to do during this period in order to get a gorgeous Harvest
Scarlet, like summer itself, strawberries, requires thoughtful care and only in this case brings a magnificent, fragrant harvest. In my family, it has been cultivated for decades, guided not only by well-known agricultural techniques, but also by small secrets.
And I want to share the main ones - what to do with strawberries during flowering.
Potassium is responsible for the bright color of the berries and their high taste, and in order to present it to strawberries in an easily digestible form, I prepare an ash infusion.
The recipe is simple - 1 glass of ash is diluted in 10 liters of water and everything is infused for a day. Then the strawberries are watered at the root, at a rate of 1 liter under the bush.
To increase the number of ovaries and increase the sugar content of the fruit, you can also carry out foliar feeding with boric acid. To do this, dilute 3 g of boric acid in 1 liter of water, then add water to a volume of up to 10 liters and spray it on strawberry beds at the rate of 1 liter for every 10 sq. m. landings.
Strawberries need sufficient watering during the flowering period, but pour it until it is damp, which can be useful, for example, to cucumbers, it is unacceptable. For each square. m. beds consume no more than 20 liters of water.
And the frequency of watering depends on the weather - if the air temperature stays within + 20 ° С - every 3 days, when it rises to + 25 ° С - every day, if about + 30 ° С or higher - twice a day.
After watering or rains, you need to inspect the strawberry bushes - does it make sense to water the ground from the rhizome? And if this happens, the plants are sure to spud.
But loosening strawberries is often negative. To make it unnecessary, it is enough to mulch the planting - then the weeds are practically not will germinate and a hard crust will not form on the ground, which prevents the respiration of the root systems.
The lion's share of the success of strawberry cultivation depends on the removal of the mustache. They are never cut off - it is so easy to damage the mother bush! Use pruning shears or scissors.
To trim the mustache, dry warm weather is chosen - in damp and cool weather, the risk increases that the bush will get sick due to bacteria. Each mustache is not cut close to the roots, but with an indent of 5-10 cm.
Since trimmed strawberry whiskers attract pest juices, I advise you not to neglect preventive treatment with a special store-bought drug, for example, you can take a well-known phytosporin.
