How to make an even sheet from a PET bottle. It turned out to be simple

I needed a sheet of plastic for homemade products, I found a ready-made solution on how to make it from a bottle on the Internet. But it's one thing when others do it, but will it be possible to repeat it yourself.

I took a dark plastic bottle, cut off the neck and bottom, then cut the resulting tube with scissors. Now this piece needs to be fixed on an even board, I had a piece of laminated chipboard.

I fastened the material with an arch with self-tapping screws along the edges. Why an arch? The fact is that the heat shrink properties of PET are used here, and the more it "sits down", the thicker, and therefore the stronger the sheet will be. The main thing is not to leave more material than it can shrink. For heat treatment, I used a building hair dryer, first I walked along the edges, and then, I began to blow the middle. It is interesting to observe how the plastic changes its shape, as a result, the arch leveled out into a sheet, it remains to unscrew the screws and cut the edges. And that's it, the sheet is ready.

Why did I need this sheet, I will keep silent for now, suddenly it will not work. But why can it be useful to you? If made of transparent plastic, then it can be use in a frame with a photo, or a picture instead of glass. And also, some glaze their greenhouses, by aligning a pet bottle of a suitable size, you can get glass substitute and for them. On this I have, while the ideas ended.
