Binding the foundation to the ground, at first glance, seems to be a simple matter - you marked it out and dug it out. But when you stand with a tape measure on the site, questions begin to circle in your head. In order to make it easier for our readers to solve construction problems, we pass on the most valuable experience of the participants FORUMHOUSE.

The method of binding the foundation to the site

A question from a forum member under the nickname Motto777:
“Tell us more about the anchoring of the foundation to the ground. Everyone writes: they marked it out, dug it out, nothing special. And when you start to do it yourself, a carriage and a small cart come out of pitfalls ”.

I can tell you in a nutshell how I tied the foundation to the ground. In general, nothing complicated. Having looked a couple of times how specialists do it, I realized that there is no special equipment for this and is not needed. For rectangular areas, this is done like this:

  1. We start from the "red line" (from the front border of the site). From the corner of the site along this very line we measure as much as we want to retreat from the edge. Therefore, we measure from the post along the front wall, suppose 5 meters. At this distance, the house will stand from the side.

  2. Now we put a peg there and go deeper into the site. Suppose we want to build a house 6 meters from the fence. We measure 6 meters from this peg. It is convenient to tie a string to the peg, on which to make a mark of 5 meters.
  3. But since we cannot pass absolutely parallel to the lateral border of the site, in principle, there may be an offset. We measure these 6 meters along the lateral border, and 5 meters deep into the site with a rope.
  4. Now the two marks on the strings should converge at one point. This will be the corner of the house, which departs from the walls of the site by 5 meters (from the side) and 6 meters (from the front).
  5. But that's just one point. Now, suppose we have a foundation of 10 * 12 and 10 meters on the front side, and 12 meters deep. It is quite simple here: we go along the side wall from the corner by 18 meters (6 + 12), from this place perpendicularly by 5 meters, and from the corner of the house by 12 meters towards the second corner of the house. In the place where they intersect, we get the point of the second corner of the house. We already have a wall of 12 meters, parallel to the side wall of the site exactly where it will be.
  1. Further from the corners of the house we measure 10 meters, and measure 12 meters between them. It seems like everything, but it turned out to be a parallelogram.
  2. Now moving the 3rd and 4th points together and roughly set them so that all the corners are 90 degrees.
  3. Now comes the fun part. We measure the diagonals. They will certainly differ by 10–20 cm (possibly more). By moving the 3 and 4 points, we achieve an absolute correspondence of both diagonals. To rearrange 5 times is normal.
  4. Again we measure all sizes, indents, fix the points well and pull the cord.
  5. We enjoy the result!

For sites with indirect boundaries, it is recommended to tie the house parallel to the front wall, that is, select point 5 along the wall to which we will tie.

Important!

The columns should have a cross section of at least 30 * 30, and preferably 50 * 50 (take into account the thickness of the columns), otherwise their bending by the tension of the threads and the dimensions go away. And the accuracy should be no more than 10 mm (1 cm). It is better to do the binding together, it takes about an hour. This work costs from free to 15 thousand for professionals. rubles. How to align the foundation on the horizon is another story.
