Glass fiber for what, why and where they are used.

This type of wallpaper got its name from the fiberglass fabric that makes up their basis. They have an embossed repeating pattern and are usually also called "paintable wallpaper".

The raw materials for the production of this type of wall coverings are environmentally friendly materials - dolomite, lime, quartz sand, soda, from which yarn is obtained.

At the last stage of processing, fiberglass is treated with a stabilizing starch composition, cut along longitudinal threads and packed into rolls with an area of ​​50 square meters. The areas of application of glass wallpaper are different, but they are mainly used in office premises, medical and childcare facilities and on almost any basis.

They can be used to glue over concrete, brick, metal and wooden bases, as well as drywall and fiberboard.

Glass fiber is a versatile wall covering and due to its very strong, but at the same time easily stretched structure after glue application, it is easy hide minor defects and irregularities in the walls, give the room a modern and finished look, do not emit toxic substances and are fireproof properties.

However, when working with fiberglass, you must follow a number of specific rules. All work before painting must be carried out in gloves and long-sleeved clothing, since the basis of the fiberglass fiber is very fragile and crumbles when the fabric is cut and adjusted to size.

After pasting, it is recommended to carry out a wet cleaning of the room in order to remove the smallest glass particles from the surfaces and prevent them from entering the body. After painting, glass wallpapers do not require any special care, as the surface becomes dirty, painting can be done on average 10-12 times, according to the recommendations of some manufacturers up to 25 times.
