Ultra-durable Tesla EV batteries ready for mass production

Electric cars are slowly but surely taking over the market from classic cars with internal combustion engines. The restraining factor of the violent seizure was the relatively short-lived batteries.

The guaranteed mileage, for example, for the same batteries installed on Tesla, is about 240 thousand. kilometers of run or 8 years of operation.

Firm Contemporary Amperex Technologywhich works closely with the engineering department of the company Tesla, proposed a new version of the so-called ultra-durable batteries. They got such a loud name because they are designed for a mileage of 1.9 million km, or for 16 years of work.

Unfortunately, no technical parameters, due to which such outstanding results were achieved, are not given.

In an interview given to Bloomberg personally by the founder of the company Contemporary Amperex Technology Zeng Yujun, there are many marketing statements according to which all modern cars in their entire "Life" does not even cover 1 million kilometers, and their batteries are designed for a much longer period, which means they are in fact eternal.

And they (batteries) are already ready for installation on assembled for the Chinese market Tesla Model 3.

The cost of the new batteries has not been disclosed. The only thing that is known for sure is that the batteries will be supplied to the factory. Gigafactory 3, located in Shanghai for installation on new Tesla vehicles from July 2020 to June 2022.

The presentation of the new batteries was supposed to take place back in April 2020 at a planned event called Tesla Investor Battery Day, where the company representatives wanted to officially present the new battery, but due to the pandemic, this event had to be postponed until the summer.

Well, the statement, of course, is very loud, and if it turns out to be at least half true, then perhaps electric cars will finally become a very serious competitor to classic cars. Well, we just have to wait and see.
