DIY summer washbasin made of PET bottle and syringe
In the warm season, here and there, temporary washbasins or washstands are often needed for sanitary purposes, which, in general, is quite logical and predictable. However, such a thing is not always at hand, so we will consider the travel version of the washbasin, which will take 15-20 minutes to make.
For homemade products, you need to find a plastic bottle and a syringe for 5 cubes.
We start by pulling out the plunger from the syringe and cutting off about half of it from the body. We trim the cut edge and grind it on fine sandpaper.
After that, on the bottle cap, we make markings along the diameter of the syringe and carefully cut a circle with a knife exactly to size. Then we insert the cut off part of the syringe into the hole from the inside of the lid, and cut off the protrusions for the fingers on the syringe to such an extent that they do not interfere with screwing the lid onto the neck.
Outside and inside, the place where the syringe enters the lid is coated with some glue. I used a thermal gun, which resolved the issue most quickly.
Before gluing the syringe, it is not necessary to squeeze it into the stopper until it stops, even better if you glue it approximately in the middle or threaded it 2/3. This makes it easier to glue, remove excess glue and then screw the cap onto the neck.
When the glue dries, insert the piston and completely push it inward from the top of the cork. The sink faucet is now ready. It remains to cut and hang the bottle.
We cut the bottom of the bottle based on the conditions in place, having thought in advance how we will attach it. You can leave only a small tongue from the bottom, as in my case, and attach the homemade product to it.
I used a large needle for this, with which you can pin the bottle to a tree or just stick it into something for a while.
I fill in water and check how well the piston holds water. If everything is in order, I am happy and use it as needed where and when I want. I unscrew the top with a homemade faucet and store it until the moment when it comes in handy.
Often, its place of storage is a purse - my constant companion and a piggy bank of all the necessary little things.
Now, if necessary, all that remains is to find a bottle and the sink is almost ready. Share what you think of such a contraption and is there anything else you can improve on it?
