This life hack saves me in many cases, but I found it thanks to this situation: every year when my family and I are leaving for the sea, we need to close all the windows of the apartment, because we live on the first floor. Upon returning home, we always feel the unpleasant musty smell of non-residential premises. I had to ventilate the apartment for several days. Then I started looking for information on the Internet and found a good way to get rid of this problem.

Essential oils can be used to keep the room smelling good for weeks or months. I used lavender oil. However, many oils have the ability to erode quickly. For example, earlier, also according to the advice on the Internet, for the aromatization of bed linen, I tried to apply 2-3 drops of essential oil on a piece of paper and spread it between the linens. But the smell disappeared pretty quickly and the laundry almost did not smell. The method that I will talk about allows the oil to spread its aroma for a long time.

This requires only 2 ingredients: the essential oil you like and the salt.

You need to take a bowl or glass, pour some salt there.

Then add 4-6 drops of your oil.

It is the salt that prevents the oil from volatilizing quickly and retains the aroma in the room for a long time.

When we were going on a trip again, I placed several of these glasses in each room.

We were pleasantly surprised when we returned from the mountains, and our apartment was fragrant with the scent of lavender.
