Nasturtium - usually ampelnoe or carpet plant, although there are varieties that grow bush. Among the dense leaves adorn the bright colors in yellow and crimson tones.

Nasturtium relatively undemanding and can withstand short-term drought. Put it, unlike petunias, it is very simple: the seeds are large and demonstrate enviable germination. It grows quickly, is not prone to diseases, pests nasturtium also usually bypassed.

when to plant: In open ground - at the end of May, seedlings - in March-April (flowering occurs sooner). Residents of the southern regions may start earlier for 2-4 weeks, and the brim with cool climate - just wait. This is the math on all the plants of the article
when in bloomJuly - the first frosts. Note: the date averaged. At flowering time affects the way of cultivation, weather and, of course, the region

Purslane - blooming carpet

Purslane - undersized plant with fleshy leaves and small colorful flowers. Perhaps of all the plants represented here less demanding on the watering and can grow under the scorching sun. Therefore, if you have a south-facing balcony or a flower bed in the open area - I strongly advise to take note.

Purslane quickly forms a carpet: You do not have to spend time weeding and hoeing the land. By the way, it grows well in poor soils and does not need dressing (although they certainly will improve the decorative appearance)

when to plant: April - on seedlings in mid-May - in the ground.
when in bloom: From mid-June until frost (about - October)

Want clouds overhead?

Personally, I am in love with ageratum. The most attractive in the plant - fluffy flowers. They are collected in volumetric inflorescences, and form a close fit entire cloud. Noteworthy ageratum and coloring: blue, cyan, white and even pink.

In the care of ageratum is nothing supernatural: weeding - out of necessity, watering - when thoroughly dry out the top layer of the earth. A couple of times during the summer, you can feed up to increase the number of colors.

when to plant: Seedlings - March-early April
when in bloom: Mid-June until frost

Want to put a beautiful flower, which does not exactly have the neighbors? I propose to draw attention to Malcolm. Stunting (height 30 cm) with small but showy flowers. It seems to me, it looks very fresh!

Coming from the Mediterranean region, perfectly feels full sun. Watering Malcolm needed rarely, only in the summer or dry season.

when to plant: In open ground - at the end of April / beginning of May and even in winter, because the seeds are very cold-resistant
when in bloom: June-October

"The good old" Marigold

Dwarf and tall, lemon and almost black, with simple flowers or voluminous balls - all of marigolds. Perhaps the flowers need no introduction. Grow well in the sun, can survive a couple of missed irrigation and, as they say, can deter pests.
