When is the right time to clean up the Christmas tree?

The joke that the Christmas tree is removed during cleaning by March 8 is, of course, an old one. But there is a lot of truth in it. Before the New Year, everyone is trying to put at home this integral attribute of the holiday and childhood memories. For this there are funds, time, creative impulse. And then, when the holidays are over, such a whirlwind begins with the beginning of the year that they simply forget about the Christmas tree.

And she stands in the corner, dusty, annoying with her uselessness, but not interfering, in principle. And every evening, falling exhausted on the sofa, lovers of the New Year holidays think: “I’ll definitely clean it up on the weekend!”. Someone earlier, someone later, with relief gets rid of the Christmas tree.

But what is right?

In principle, for me the question is not so acute. The fact is that my tree is considered not New Year's, but Christmas. That is, it has been standing since the end of last year, until January 7 - for sure! And then the festive events continue, correctly speaking, the after-feast, for 5 days. Thus, until January 14, the Christmas tree remains in the house. And then you can safely remove it, because the afterfeast is over. Only the Nativity of Christ has such a long afterfeast, because this is a great day for Orthodox Christians.

Before Epiphany, no one leaves the Christmas tree, this is a completely different holiday, to which the Christmas tree has nothing to do and is not a symbol of it.

And the fact that the old New Year, which was celebrated very actively in Soviet times, is celebrated precisely in this day, from January 13 to 14, many were questioned - is it right to leave the Christmas tree before this date? After all, this is probably a Soviet tradition? There is no doubt that it is absolutely correct to remove the Christmas tree on January 14th.

Other terms

We have three Christmas trees in the house. The main, tall tree is still standing in the dining room, because the living room has not yet been finished. Two little ones are upstairs - in the office and in the son's room. All of them have been pleasing us since about December 28th.

Many clean the New Year's beauty already on January 8, after Christmas. There is nothing wrong with this, it is also possible.

But the tradition of keeping a sign of the holiday until the Eastern New Year, which is celebrated somewhere in early February, is a completely wild thing. For me, in general, this imposition of traditions alien to us and oblivion of our own customs is absolutely disgusting.

I believe that there is a real war for the souls of people. And all these Valentines, Halloweens, Eastern calendars are a way to distract Russians from their own uniqueness, from the awareness of belonging to a great nation, the humiliation of our authenticity, devotion memory of ancestors.

It is a pity, but this war is played with great pleasure. This year, especially, they flooded everyone with tigers, I did not have time to give away all these magnets, calendars, postcards and other things with his image. I simply threw out many useless things - why replicate? I understand that this is a grain of sand in the Universe, but I did what I could ...

Therefore, the question of when to properly clean the New Year and Christmas tree, I consider it closed. It's either January 8th or January 14th. That will be right.
