Summer is the season of kebabs and all kinds of street cuisine: smoky dishes beckon with their delicate aroma. But to diversify the street menu, one barbecue is not enough, you need an outdoor oven. Participant FORUMHOUSE under the nickname Sannata shared the technology of a multifunctional oven of his own design.

How the idea came to build a stove with your own hands

I don't know if it will be useful to someone or not, but I decided to share my thoughts on arranging a barbecue area or an outdoor oven. I think that everyone can do it without unnecessary bells and whistles - there would be a desire. Many have hands, and I appeal to them.

So, the idea to lay down the stove on the site came two years ago, when we did not have gas and water, and the house was almost there. I thought of a kind of trough made of bricks with a side spacer for a frying pan and a side pipe. Those who have seen such metal barbecues will understand me: such a design is available in almost all military units.

What technology did I use to build a street oven

After thinking over the plan, I proceeded to implement it. Here is a list of my work.

  • I dug a foundation area 1.2 * 1.2 meters in size, 30 cm deep.
  • I covered it with rubble, sprinkled it with cement.
  • I laid the welded mesh, covered it with sand and gravel, and spilled it with water.
  • Got the foundation for the foundation.
  • I put the mesh on the spacers.
  • I made a formwork 7 cm high and filled everything with homemade concrete.
  • I got a slab for the foundation of the stove.
  • I folded the bottom - the support of the future furnace, hollow. It took 18 concrete foundation blocks in 3 rows.
  • Along the support, I put in two layers a welded mesh with a cell of 20 * 20 from a bar of 5 mm.
  • The edges and center of the mesh are reinforced with a fiftieth corner; I put reinforced glass tape in the hollows-voids so that the solution does not fall through during installation.
  • I laid out the slab - the basis of the furnace, it took 24 facing bricks (4 * 6).
  • I laid out the bottom of the furnace - the bottom, it took 15 fireclay bricks.
  • Then he laid out the furnace itself: 3 rows of 2.5 * 3 fireclay bricks. The external size turned out to be about 78 * 68 cm.
  • After that I laid out 4 rows with an opening.
  • He blocked the opening with a corner and drove two more rows of bricks.
  • In front I laid out a support for the stove damper of 6 facing bricks.
  • Each row was reinforced with a plaster mesh: cell 20 * 20, wire 0.5.

As a result, the oven turned out open on top, but then it was simple - put two sheets of metal, and that's it! Kazan: the height of the suspension is adjusted by placing bricks, the mouth of the furnace can be closed with a damper, then all the heat will only go up.

How much material did it take for this oven

Material used:

  • 18 concrete blocks;
  • 30 facing bricks;
  • welded metal mesh - 6 m;
  • metal corner 50 * 50 - 2 m;
  • metal corner 30 * 30 - about 2.5 m;
  • welded plaster mesh - 2 sq. m;
  • fireclay brick - 15 + 45 + 28 = 88 pieces;
  • cement - 1 bag;
  • sand, gravel, expanded clay - well, I didn't count, but a little;
  • facade paint and aquatex.

Now there are no problems with cooking on the street: at least pilaf, at least soup; even a kebab - just throw firewood!
