In order for a tomato to form a good harvest, you need a sufficient amount of nutrients. For this purpose, you can use industrial drugs or folk remedies.

What a plant needs during flowering and fruit formation

During development, the tomato takes a large amount of nutrients from the soil. For full growth, the plant needs potassium, nitrogen and phosphorus. If the soil is severely depleted, then fertilizing should be carried out regularly.

Feeding methods

1. Watering the plant with a fertilizer solution. This method is used in cases where it is necessary to avoid waterlogging. Top dressing dissolves in water, and this liquid is used to water tomatoes.

2. Root way. Moisten the soil around the stem, and add dry fertilizers. For the plant to absorb nutrients, it is necessary to maintain a sufficient level of soil moisture.

3. Spraying plants. The nutrient is added to the water and dissolved completely. Then this liquid is sprayed on the ground part of the plants. In this case, it is important not to overdo it with the concentration of fertilizers, otherwise the plant may burn out.

To achieve a good result, it is worth alternating root and foliar feeding.

Folk remedies

1. Iodine solution. This trace element should be used even during the period of forcing seedlings. At the time of bud formation, it is enough to treat the plants with an aqueous solution of iodine. For 10 liters of water I give 2 drops of the active ingredient.

2. Wood ash. It contains a large amount of potassium, phosphorus and other useful substances. For 10 liters of hot water I give about 200 g of ash.

The mixture must be mixed well and insisted for a day. After that, I pour 300-400 ml of solution under each bush.

3. Yeast. For feeding, I take one small package of yeast (100 g), and dilute it in a liter of warm water.

When the yeast is activated and begins to form bubbles, I dilute the concentrate in a bucket of ordinary water at room temperature. I pour this top dressing under the root.

4. Boric acid. If the weather is too hot outside, the tomatoes may bloom, but not form ovaries. To solve this problem, I take 10 g of boric acid and dilute it in 200 ml of water.

After that I add the solution to a bucket of water (10 liters) and spray the tomatoes with a spray bottle.

Before making top dressing, it is worth finding out the reason for the absence of the ovary. The bed may be too humid or excessively thick.

Also, sometimes the soil contains too high a concentration of nitrogen, which stimulates the growth of shoots to the detriment of flowering.
