What Clematis Dislikes: 3 Major Care Mistakes
The cultivation of clematis, like any other plant, requires certain actions to fully disclose these flowers. The application is relevant not only in landscape design.
Luxurious color combination, non-standard appearance, surrounding atmosphere. All this appears, even if they are limited to special containers. Plus, the variety of varieties and the possibility of co-cultivation create a great atmosphere.
Proper watering
I am a florist who never forgets these things. But it is clematis that make you periodically dispense water in the right volume. They are hygrophilous without an overabundance.
That is, cultivation in lowlands is prohibited due to an excess of liquid. Plants are consumed depending on age, size, variety. So:
· Young watered under the bush by 10 liters;
· Old ones with huge vines up to 20.
The first and main mistake lies in determining the required amount. And many people forget about soil impregnation. In fact, everything is very simple.
You can compare sizes based on your own height. Especially if the process is controlled from the first days of planting. Watering at least once every 7 days. For an improved result, milk of lime is added. Moisture impregnation at least 30-40 cm.
The dry season doubles the amount of moisture. The soil is loosened slightly to increase the amount of oxygen.
Overheating elimination
Clematis adore summer, sun rays, warmth. Because of this, for the first time, I planted in the best places on the site. But with the onset of the heat, they gradually died.
Moreover, it did not depend on how much they were watered. Planting should take place away from metal fences, in places with quick access for cultivating the soil, with wind blowing from all sides. Then overheating is excluded due to natural cooling.
Lack of fertilization in the required amount
Top dressing for clematis is carried out at least 4 times during the summer period. Organic and mineral alternate in strict proportions. Their preparation takes place in advance.
Cow dung / bird droppings are diluted with water. The first has a ratio of 1:10. The second component is better than 1:15 or 1:20. Chemical fertilizer for 10 liters of water no more than 40 grams.
Late July and early August are fed with sodium sulfate. It provides vines with the necessary strength and rigidity.
