How to hem the ceiling with plasterboard panels for finishing
Ceiling repair - always a difficult event: it involves preliminary alignment with further application of decorative material. All actions are performed at a height. In order to simplify this work, the owner can use drywall panels as a leveling material. But how to hem the ceiling with plasterboard to get a beautiful, reliable and even base for decorating?
Rough preparation of the ceiling for work
Before plasterboard is installed on the ceiling, it is advisable to remove old materials from the rough surface. Anyway, if they are heavy and thick. It is also necessary to get rid of crumbling plaster, which can further damage the finish.
Installation of a frame for plasterboard panels
There are several methods for fixing drywall to a ceiling surface. For example, you can immediately glue it or grab it with ordinary self-tapping screws. But the frame will act as the most successful basis.
It will be possible to assemble it yourself using a simple wooden bar with a minimum thickness of 5 cm. The prepared bars are installed along the perimeter of the ceiling, then beams are made of them, which are already positioned across the surface. There is no need to leave a big step between them. The distance should be about 50-60 cm.
Fastening drywall to a frame structure
Of course, working with full-size drywall in this case is difficult. Therefore, the owner can pre-cut each sheet at least in half. Next, the panels are raised to a height and attached with self-tapping screws to all frame elements. For rigid fastening, it is necessary to arrange fasteners with a maximum pitch of 30 cm.
