We accelerate the growth of Onions in early July with an unusual feeding. I share a step-by-step recipe that I have been using over the past years
Growing onions on your site, you need to understand that this vegetable crop at different periods of its ripening needs to provide it with certain nutritional elements.
July is no exception, which marks the height of summer. At this time, the onions must be fed, otherwise the chances of getting a rich harvest are significantly reduced.
For the past 5 years, I have been feeding onion plantings in July with one effective fertilizer, and during this time I have never been disappointed in it.
Today I am ready to reveal all the cards and tell in detail about the recipe for this top dressing.
What do onions need in July?
At the height of summer, onions need an increased supply of potassium to it, which is required for the full ripening of vegetables.
Also, this vegetable crop will be “delighted” with the phosphorus delivered to it, but nitrogen during this period of time will not be appropriate for onions.
Choice of feeding
A specially designed preparation called "Agricola" will help to satisfy the onion's need for phosphorus-potassium fertilizers.
But, to be honest, I do not like such feeding and always prefer natural remedies to them, because they are much safer and are not able to harm the plants.
Wood ash is my favorite food for onions. This is due not only to the unique composition of ash, where the main components are potassium, phosphorus and calcium, but and with its ability to neutralize the acidity level of the soil, which is especially beneficial for the development of onions.
Operating principle
Feeding onions with wood ash, organized in July, has many positive aspects, namely:
· Accelerates the onion ripening period;
· Improves the quality of fruits, bulbs grow large and healthy;
· Increases the duration of the onion storage period;
· Strengthens plant immunity and protects against pests.
Cooking features
The algorithm for preparing a fertilizer based on wood ash is as follows:
Dissolve 2 glasses of ash in a liter of warm water;
· Increase the volume of liquid to 10 liters;
After thoroughly stirring, remove the solution in a dark place and leave it for a week.
I use the ready-made ash solution for watering onion beds, spending an average of 0.3 liters per plant.
The proposed recipe for feeding from wood ash is intended to provide a significant improvement in yield. Follow my lead, fertilize your onion beds with this miracle cure and you won't regret it.
