Top dressing that will kill your Cucumbers. Many advise using them, but I strongly do not recommend, having a Sad experience
Without providing the cucumbers with adequate nutrition, it will not be possible to get a rich harvest. But, as it turns out, not all top dressing will benefit this vegetable crop, and some may even be destructive for it.
Unfortunately, once upon a time, out of inexperience, I heard enough stories about miraculous fertilizers for cucumbers and hurried to apply them.
As a result, that year I almost lost my harvest. Since then, I have learned exactly which dressings are categorically not suitable for cucumbers. But, surprisingly, until now, from time to time we have to hear that many summer residents advise these fertilizers as effective.
But believe my experience, this is not at all the case. So, I present to your attention a list of fertilizers dangerous for cucumbers.
Ammonia
I remember how they convinced me of the need to feed with ammonia during the fruiting period of cucumbers. Foolishly, I decided to use this advice...
As a result, the cucumbers acquired an unusual bitter taste, became tough. In addition, the leaves of the plant began to curl, which in turn disrupted the processes of photosynthesis.
And all this is a consequence of the influence of ammonia on cucumber bushes. Therefore, I strongly advise you not to use such a top dressing.
Horse dung
It was only over time that I learned that horse manure is characterized by an increased amount of ammonia, which gives off a high concentration of nitrates, which can be deposited both in the soil and in vegetables.
Therefore, this fertilizer is definitely not worth using for cucumbers. After such feeding, it will be very difficult to call cucumbers useful, and their taste will leave much to be desired.
Iodine
Iodine is indeed very useful for certain vegetable crops, but cucumber is not one of them. After feeding with this preparation, the cucumbers will lose their characteristic milky taste and become bitter.
In addition, instead of looking fresh and firm, the cucumbers will be lethargic and shriveled. This is exactly what happened to my cucumbers after I fertilized them with iodine.
By the way, exceeding the concentration of this antiseptic during the preparation of fertilizer will cause plant burns, which, depending on the severity, can result in plant death.
Do not repeat my mistakes, never feed your cucumbers with the specified fertilizers, otherwise all your efforts to grow them will be in vain.
