Fish meal for feeding Pepper. I tell you how to use it correctly and you can Forget about feeding for the whole season
Like all gardeners-fans of vegetable pepper, I wondered - how to feed the culture? What formula of mineral fertilizers to look for in stores?
But one day I learned from a neighbor, a farmer with fifty years of experience, that there was no need to look for anything! It turns out that all the substances necessary for peppers are contained in ordinary fishmeal.
Now I am used to applying only it and more fertilizers are not required per season! However, some rules must be followed.
It is useful to know that it is produced from non-edible fish and food-grade fish residues - ridges, heads, fins, as well as all kinds of seafood and crustaceans.
All this is processed, dried, milled and a protein-rich powder is obtained, also containing, in particular:
· Amino acids irreplaceable for plants;
· Biotin, choline;
· Nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium;
· Glutamic acid.
Fishmeal can also be made at home using waste or the cheapest fish. If her bones are soft, the carcass is rolled through a meat grinder raw, if hard - after boiling.
The finished puree is stored frozen, and then diluted twice - first in proportions 1: 5, then 100 g for every 5 liters of water.
Flour from the gardener's shop should be diluted according to the instructions on the package.
The root system of pepper is one of the most sensitive among vegetables, mistakes in fertilization often lead to the death of plants, especially at the beginning of the growing season!
While the pepper is still in the seedling stage, based on my own experience, I advise you not to fertilize it at all.
But when landing on a permanent place in open ground or a greenhouse, you can add 20-40 g of dry fishmeal to the holes. More of it is required for tall, late-ripening varieties, less for early and undersized varieties.
If the soil in the garden is not poor, then, in principle, there is no need to feed the pepper with anything before harvesting!
But if there is a risk of attack by pests, if the soil has not been fertilized since autumn, or the local climate often surprises in the form of drought, then it is better to water with the infusion described above.
Literally three times a season - after planting seedlings, at the beginning and end of flowering, spending 0.5, 1 and 2 liters of funds for each bush, respectively.
You can water the pepper with any fertilizer only after the soil is moistened with regular watering.
