Rolling leaves on Tomatoes: what needs to be done urgently so as not to be left without a crop

Growing tomatoes is no easy task! On this path, the gardener faces many questions, the speed and accuracy of the solution of which depends on whether the crop will be harvested. Curling the leaves is one of the more difficult ones.

When I first encountered this, I almost ruined the landings with the wrong actions, but then, having understood this topic, I understood how to act. And I hope that someone will find my experience useful!

If the leaf plates curl upward, and their lower side has acquired a purple hue, the culture suffers from a lack of phosphorus.

In this case, it is necessary to sprinkle some dry ash under the bushes or prepare top dressing:

Dilute 150 g of superphosphate in 1 liter of boiling water and leave to infuse for 20 hours;

· Dilute the infusion with 10 liters of water;

· Apply at the root at the rate of 0.5 liters per plant.

It happened to me to make a mistake with fertilizers and on the contrary - by adding too much of them and it is especially easy with nitrogen. Because of it, only the tops of tomato bushes twist, the rest of the leaves remain normal.

To neutralize the excess nitrogen, you need to use ash again - sprinkling it on the ground before regular watering.

It also happens that the leaves curl immediately after planting the seedlings to a permanent place in open ground or a greenhouse. In this case, the matter may be in damage to the root system.

You don't need to do anything here - in 4-5 days the state of the greenery itself should normalize in the process of adapting the seedlings.

Very often, a violation of the basic rules of agricultural technology leads to deformation of the leaves.

Therefore, in order not to lose the crop, as first aid it is necessary:

1. Water the bushes abundantly, doing it regularly, using only warm water. Based on my own experience, I can say that tomato seedlings must be watered after disembarkation, spending 0.5 buckets per bush, and then, 10 days after that - another 1 bucket per bush.

If you do not give the tomatoes so much "to get drunk", the leaves will almost certainly twist, and then, there will be almost no ovaries.

2. Due to the increase in temperature and humidity, the leaves usually curl only in greenhouse tomatoes and ignoring the problem is fraught with the death of the bushes, provoking fungal diseases.

If the air in the greenhouse heats up above + 28 ° C, it is urgently necessary to ventilate and cool the plants by stretching some material over them for shade.
