My geraniums grow all summer in a flower bed and in flowerpots outdoors: why is it good for them
When the stable warm season comes, I plant my indoor geranium in the open ground. A slightly shaded area is ideal for this. I choose tall rose or currant bushes as a useful neighborhood. They reliably protect against direct sunlight and strong gusts of wind.
Benefit
In summer, geraniums are too stuffy in the house, they turn yellow and disappear. In the flowerbed, the plant literally comes to life:
· The green part grows;
· A powerful root system is developing;
· Immunity is strengthened;
· The deficiency of light, air and useful microelements is replenished.
Within a month, the leaves become large and succulent, and the lush and abundant flowering continues almost all summer.
Transfer
To cause the plant a minimum of discomfort, I transplant by transshipment. In the ground, I prepare a depression of the required size, fill it with water and after it is completely absorbed, I move the earthen lump with geraniums directly into the hole.
Freshly cut cuttings can be buried in well-moistened soil. Rooting in this way occurs several times faster and practically without losses.
It is useful to sprinkle the ground next to the flowers with crushed eggshells. It deacidifies the soil, saturates it with nutrients and effectively fights against bears and slugs.
For a beautiful decoration of the territory, I just put some specimens on the street in pots. They also grow well, but in development they lag behind those planted in the garden.
Flowers grow 4-5 times over the summer.
By the fall, geraniums grow so much that they no longer fit into old flowerpots.
They retain their rich color and strength until January, February. How do you spoil your indoor plants? Do you find seasonal planting in a flower bed useful?
