Why there have been no pests on my cabbage for many years.
Such, at first glance, white cabbage easy to grow, can actually cause a lot of trouble for the gardener. And one of the important problems is endless pests that strive to accumulate cabbage leaves and destroy them.
That only is not used for their extermination. How many chemical multiple treatments are carried out in cabbage beds to preserve the crop.
Unfortunately, all temporary chemistry then negatively affects our body.
What to do to save the cabbage and not harm yourself?
The answer is, and it is surprisingly simple: use regular valerian.
To prepare the solution, you will need three liters of water and one bottle of tincture.
Some gardeners add soap or shampoo to the water so that the solution does not drip from the leaves, but sticks to them.
But I tell you for sure that no additional ingredient is needed for valerian. Its corrosive smell is already well retained on vegetable crops.
And the secret of the effectiveness of this remedy is precisely the repelling of pests with an unpleasant smell for them.
Of course, when you are sprinkling the cabbage to feed it, then it is really better to add soap. It will help the solution stay on the leaves and nourish the plant with useful substances.
You can also use special adhesives available in stores. Unlike soap, rain almost does not wash them off.
In order not to spend money on the purchase of these substances, I just spray cabbage more often. And in the case when the weather is dry, frequent treatments are not required.
And of course, a week before harvesting, or maybe two, it is better not to spray the cabbage. Let it air out so that the valerian is not felt when cooking.
The method has been tested by me several times. For more than five years now, there has been no pest on my cabbage.
