Muffler for chainsaw or trimmer muffler

One of the disadvantages of gasoline tools is the increased noise level that they emit. This irritating factor is especially pronounced in benzotrimmers during a long process of mowing the grass. Many have large areas and spend hours mowing them. The running engine can be heard far away. Partly because of this, I purchased an electric trimmer, the noise level of which is lower. Is it possible to reduce the noise emitted by the petrol trimmer or chainsaw? For example, exhaust mufflers are installed on any car and motorcycle. And on the gasoline tool - its likeness.

Some craftsmen are trying to reduce the noise of the engine with their homemade designs. One example:

The author welded the pipe to the exhaust system of the chainsaw and to it, when necessary, screw the muffler made from part of the muffler of the moped.

The muffler is removable. The pipe could be bent and the muffler placed along the body of the chainsaw. But then the exhaust gases will go to you.

Honestly, the effect is not as expected as we would like. The chainsaw makes less noise with a homemade muffler only at low revs. But at high, working speeds - the sound, of course, is not that, but there is no significant muffling of the noise either.

The noise of the gasoline engine of the tool makes not only the exhaust gases, but the piston, connecting rod, chain and drive sprocket. The increased noise level is a characteristic of the air-cooled two-stroke engine.

Some homemade products even look like factory ones. But after watching several videos demonstrating how to work with them, I realized that the effect of noise reduction is insignificant.

This task needs to be addressed by the manufacturers of gasoline-powered tools. Since, if in a few years the cordless tool increases its performance in terms of operating time on one charge and the prices for it decrease, then the gasoline tool will be in strong competition. In a gasoline tool operating on a two-stroke system on a gasoline-oil mixture (which is not environmentally friendly) for 20-30 years, nothing fundamentally changes. Or maybe there is no point in improving something there? What do you think? How many more years will this type of instrument last?
