How to speed up the ripening of tomatoes in the greenhouse and in the open field

There are several ways to get ripe tomato fruits earlier than naturally. For this, it is necessary to stimulate the onset of their maturity.

Stimulating the ripening of tomatoes with nitrogen

Top dressing with nitrogen fertilizers is carried out in the process of fruiting tomatoes; to stimulate ripening, it can be done in 2 ways:

1. Top dressing at the root. 2-3 tablespoons of urea are taken into a bucket of water and the solution is poured near the roots of the plant.

IMPORTANT!

Before such stimulation, it is imperative to shed tomato beds.

2. Top dressing on the sheet. For 10 liters of water, 1 tablespoon of urea is taken.

On an industrial scale, the use of complex fertilizers is practiced, which contain a large degree of nitrogen.

Traditional methods of stimulating the ripening of tomatoes

For many years on our site we have been using peat oxidate solution on the sheet. 300 grams of the drug is diluted in a bucket of water. It is best to choose peat oxidate with trace elements for such feeding.

Iodine can also be used to stimulate maturation. It can be used to make a solution for treating bushes (1 bottle per bucket of water), or the bottle can be hung on a string (if tomatoes grow in a greenhouse).

Using any of the methods will allow you to get an earlier harvest.
