Which interior styles do my clients most often choose?
Hello everyone, my name is Maxim, I work as an interior designer. I am sharing useful information on this profession and all the nuances associated with it.
We all know that there are different interior styles and they are all radically different from each other.
I am sometimes asked what interior styles people most often order.
I want to say right away that I work mainly with ordinary clients who live in ordinary city apartments. Although, I also had interior projects in homes and business premises.
In the past few years, the Scandinavian style has been leading. Although to be honest, it is almost never used in its pure form in our apartments. You can even say that a new style has appeared - Scandinavian, mixed with modern.
This style is dominated by light shades and natural textures. But since not everyone can afford natural materials, most often you have to choose imitation.
Fortunately, today's market offers a large selection of materials. And some of them imitate natural textures so well that it is almost impossible to tell the difference.
The Scandinavian style presupposes minimalism - but even here you have to deviate from the rules. When you create a project of a two-room apartment for a family with children, it is difficult to create a practical space with a minimum set of furnishings.
The second most popular style is neoclassical. A very elegant, practical lifestyle. It is more often chosen by older people. The style is good because you can create a very rich interior look from quite budget materials.
Less often people want to create a Provence style in their home.
Young people often prefer a loft, sometimes pop art or pin-up. For country houses, many choose the rustic or country style, as well as neoclassical.
Least of all we have to work with constructivism, minimalism styles - for some reason such trends do not take root among our people.
Recently, the fashion for vintage has gone and I already had two projects in this style. Of course, adequate people are unlikely to choose the Empire, Baroque or Versailles for city apartments. But such characters are rare, but there are.
A very practical style for life is the Bauhaus, but despite the fact that it is quite old, in our area it is just gaining momentum in popularity.
