Burn or discard? Where to put the branches so as not to get a fine

Soon all gardeners in our country will begin the autumn pruning of trees and shrubs - without this agrotechnical operation, a normal fruit plant cannot be grown. Pruning never comes alone, only with a headache: how to get rid of branches and not break the law? It seems that there is a fine for every conceivable way of disposal, but no. There is a way out, and the press service of the government of the Moscow region told about it.

From the point of view of the law

Most garden owners do break the law when they get rid of branches. What are the owners of suburban areas doing? They either burn branches in fires, or carry them away to the nearest forest - and people choose the second method, sincerely caring about the environment: is it organic? But according to the law, this is not organic at all, but ordinary garbage. You cannot lay cut branches in the forest - this is an administrative offense, and individuals may well receive a fine of two thousand rubles for such a fine.

There is an order of Rosprirodnadzor dated May 22, 2017 No. 242, according to which solid household waste includes:

mowed lawn grass;
plants from flower beds;
waste generated by pruning trees and shrubs.

But this is such solid household waste that cannot be thrown into ordinary garbage containers. Cut branches are considered bulky waste, which must be removed by the regional operator.

In a number of regions, including the Moscow region, bunkers for such waste are installed at container sites, in other regions and regions of our country - at some other specially designated places. In any case, the places where you can take out such garbage, and the schedule for its removal are specified in the agreement with the regional operator.

What if you burn it?

It is theoretically possible to burn such branches, but even here the law restricts the gardener from all sides. First, you need to make sure that there is no special regime in the region when making fires is strictly prohibited. Secondly, even when such a regime does not work, branches can be burned only by observing the requirements of the Ministry of Emergencies:

The distance from the fire to any outbuilding must be more than 50 meters.
To a coniferous forest or just coniferous trees - more than 100 meters.

Deciduous forest or groups of deciduous trees are more than 30 meters away.
For a fire, you need to dig a hole at least 30 cm deep and no more than a meter in diameter.
The area around the fire should be equipped along the edge with a mineralized fire strip not wide less than 40 centimeters and completely free of dry grass, twigs, wood debris and anything else that might light up.
If the branches are burned in a metal barrel, then all distances can be cut in half.

It is very important: you cannot burn branches and any other debris if the wind speed is more than 10 meters per second.

What threatens violators? Fines of the Ministry of Emergencies

The fine for violation of the rules for burning branches and other summer cottages is:

2-3 thousand rubles - for a simple violation of the terms;
2-4 thousand rubles - for kindling a fire during a special fire-fighting regime;
4-5 thousand rubles, if damage was caused to someone else's property.
