Pilea is an unpretentious cute plant that does not give me any trouble and pleases with its greenery
Pylaea is a hardy plant with decorative leaves that is often found in flower gardens and botanical gardens. It grows quickly, which allows it to be effectively used for various compositions.
I have been growing this plant for 5 years now, and it does not give me any trouble. Bright greenery is very pleasing to the eye, especially in winter, when it is gray and dull outside.
Pylaea has small flowers collected in a brush. Most often they are white or pale yellow.
At the end of flowering, fruits are formed on the petioles, which, after ripening, shoot up to 100 m in length. This is an excellent way of spreading in natural conditions.
Care
The rays can damage the leaves and the plant will lose its decorative effect. In the summer, it is useful to take the flower to fresh air.
Unlike most plants, caring for a sawea in winter is the same as in summer. With the onset of cold weather, the amount of light should not decrease, otherwise the leaves will become pale in color.
Pilea loves warmth and grows well only at high temperatures. Cold and drafts in the room will lead to her death.
Do not use tap water. Use a humidifier or open containers of water. Spraying the leaves from a spray bottle is contraindicated.
Top dressing should be done regularly once a week. The sawea grows rapidly and therefore needs annual pruning. The cuttings root well. Regular pinching of the stems will make the bush lush.
Transfer
As a result of rapid growth, the root system quickly sucks nutrients out of the soil. Because of this, the pilea needs an annual transplant. Small pots and light, loose soil are suitable for this. Pilea is not picky about its composition. The main thing is that there is a thick drainage layer at the bottom.
Reproduction
In nature, the plant reproduces well by seeds that germinate quickly. At home, cuttings are placed in water and rooted in the ground.
Possible problems
If favorable conditions are violated, the decorativeness of the plant suffers first of all. If the room is cold, the leaves wrinkle. Foliage flying indicates insufficient watering. If the leaves wither, then the soil is waterlogged. If the new leaves grow small and stretch out strongly, then the plant has little light.
If only the old lower leaves are flying around, this is normal.
A lush bush with large coin-shaped leaves on long petioles of juicy green color fits perfectly into the interior. This plant can be placed not only on windowsills, but also on coffee tables, dressers and decorative shelves.
The plant is unpretentious and does not require much care. It is for this that it fell in love with modern designers.
