Why is it necessary to plow or dig up a vegetable garden in the fall.

Some gardeners argue that the soil should remain intact for the winter. But not everyone agrees with this. Today I want to give you evidence in favor of digging or plowing a vegetable garden in late autumn.

First of all, when you stir the soil, larvae and eggs of pests rise up from the ground. In winter, they will freeze and the garden will partially get rid of harmful insects.

Weeds are also destroyed with a shovel or plow. A damaged root system weakens the plants, preventing them from developing at full strength. As a result, much less weeds will grow in the beds in the spring.

It is in the fall that deep perk-digging of the beds is recommended, and in the spring you can slightly loosen the soil or, if possible, cultivate it.

If the garden is large, processing is carried out using technology. But, with small beds it is more difficult, everything has to be done manually.

It is necessary to approach the destruction of weeds in the process of digging the beds individually: some plants can be left to decay (they will serve as fertilizer), but there are those that in the spring will begin to grow with a new by force. The roots of these weeds are best removed from the garden and burned.

You should also carry out regular weeding, which will not allow the seeds to appear on the weeds. No matter how you dig up the soil in the fall, most of the seeds will overwinter and in the spring they will "please" with the active growth of unwanted plants, adding extra work.

It is also very effective to dig up the garden by first adding manure, which will enter the soil and fertilize it, giving useful substances during the winter.
