There is a formula for a modern house, which was derived by the great French architect Le Corbusier: and here is one of its components: “the house should have a flat roof in order to equip a solarium, a sports ground, a pool, a terrace on it or a garden. "

Transformer booth - this is how the forum users called this house

Many of us would like to follow this rule, especially the owners of small plots, viewed from all sides by curious neighbors' eyes. But is a flat roof suitable for our harsh climate? The house of our user with the nickname victorborisov has been proving brilliantly for several years that yes, it fits!

This one-storey house with a flat operated roof of the user of our portal with the nickname victorborisov is widely known on the Internet as a "transformer box". Many wondered why Victor chose this option, and he patiently repeated: “A flat roof is cool. Look at Malta, look at the Asia of the former USSR. "

When guests come to Victor, everyone has a break in the pattern: they expected to see a small house, but here - a stylish minimalist European house, "an apartment in nature", only better. The house was built for year-round operation, in "one helmet" for two seasons (from time to time friends helped Victor).

  • Dimensions 10.5x8.5 meters.
  • Total area 72 sq. m.
  • The foundation is a monolithic slab with composite reinforcement insulated with 200 mm EPS.
  • Walls - aerated concrete D400 375 mm, plastered outside (10 mm) and inside (6 mm).
  • Heating - duct air conditioner.

Classic flat roof with roll-up waterproofing for precast-monolithic floors and solid insulation (EPS 150-300 mm), is sown with a lawn: Victor has a small plot, and he is very glad that instead of an attic he has a hundred squares of lawn on the roof.

There are solar panels on the roof, which partially (and in summer completely) compensate for the energy consumption of the house. Victor says that he does not spend money on the maintenance of the roof at all: he only mows the lawn, but he still has to mow it not on the roof.
