"I planted and forgot": I regret not having planted this beautiful Perennial in the country before, which does not require Care at all
Perhaps it is easy to agree that a beautiful garden requires some work of its owner. But why not strive to keep them to a minimum?
One of the most useful solutions in this area is planting unpretentious perennials. Personally, I have so far opted for Lupine - a gorgeous flowering plant, which, I hope, will be interesting for many gardeners to learn more about!
Perennial lupine grows up to 120 cm, but there are also miniature varieties about 40 cm in height. Large leaves in the lower part of the stem do not hide luxurious flower clusters in the form of highly elongated inverted drops.
The color can be very different - sky blue or lilac, purple, apricot, yellow-cream or white, pink, blue.
A place on the site for perennial lupine should be chosen sunny, with light, breathable soil and not prone to moisture stagnation.
Theoretically, plants can feel normal and shaded, but for juiciness, brightness of colors, you still need the longest daylight hours!
I consider it important to emphasize that despite all the simplicity, this plant needs to be transplanted to a new place every 3 years. And in total, the decorative appearance remains for 5-6 years.
Perennial lupine blooms, which is great, already in the year of sowing the seeds, provided that the seedlings begin to grow no later than the third decade of April.
But in principle, sowing from autumn is also suitable - in October, then flowering will not come with a delay - in August, but as it should be for most varieties of the species - in July-June.
Although the perennial lupine is native to the highlands of North America, its cultivated varieties are sensitive to winds and drafts. So, guided by my own experience, I recommend placing it near fences, walls of buildings, with tall bushes.
But in terms of agricultural technology, these are really not capricious flowers! The main thing is to make sure that the soil does not dry out before cracking, and regularly remove weeds. It is not required to apply fertilizers, if the soil on the site is not completely hopelessly not fertile.
And the final touch in the mandatory care program is the timely removal of wilted inflorescences so that the flowering of perennial lupine is long and abundant.
With such a careful approach, even a second wave of inflorescence formation at the end of summer or at the beginning of autumn is possible.
