I spend 15 minutes in September processing Currants, and I get healthy bushes that give a bountiful harvest
It's no secret that you can make sure that the currants bring a gorgeous harvest in the new season already in the autumn. And surprisingly, it doesn't take much time and effort!
In addition, special processing of currant bites on the eve of winter helps to strengthen their immunity, that is, it ensures the prevention of many diseases of the culture!
Probably, many will be confused by the fact that the remedy I recommend cannot have the prefix "eco" or "folk recipe" fashionable today, but believe me To my practical experience - nothing simple, like a decoction of onion husks, currants cannot be processed and fully "supported" in autumn!
But copper sulfate is what you need! In the end, more than one generation of farmers has been successfully using this tool for a wide variety of gardening and truck farming tasks.
In order to prepare a solution so useful for currant bushes, you should add 10 liters, that is, somewhere around 1 bucket of water, 300 g of copper sulfate.
The water must be warm so that the substance is fully dissolved in it! Thus, a solution of 3% strength is obtained.
In my opinion, there is no need to add lime to get the so-called Bordeaux liquid.
It is also very desirable to add a little soap crushed into shavings to the solution - thus, it will become sticky and linger on plants for the precious time necessary for its full actions.
The solution can be applied using a spray bottle or, in general, with an ordinary foam sponge. Naturally, you need to work with gloves!
Plus, the very remnants of the liquid can be diluted with more water and shedding the near-stem circles of berry bushes.
To perform the treatment, choose a dry, not windy day, when the sky is densely covered with clouds from edge to edge.
Despite the fact that this effective processing takes a minimum of time, it is impossible to say that this is all that currants need in autumn!
And above all, it should be preceded by sanitary pruning of the bushes with the removal of all obviously sick, broken, withered branches. Someone can do more pruning to increase yields - it's a matter of taste!
As for the shelter of the currants of especially sensitive varieties, I advise you to do this 10-14 days after treatment with copper sulfate. Otherwise, there is a risk of ruining the currant bushes altogether.
