How it all started

My wife always dreamed of a second exit from the house to the yard. One fine evening she said: “Dear, why not make you a small veranda and an additional exit to yard? " I liked this idea, and I started planning, measuring, purchasing materials and directly to work.

How was the construction

I started with the foundation, which I chose as concrete posts. To do this, I first drilled holes 80 cm deep and 150 mm in diameter. Then he poured the formwork under the level, concreted the pedestals and laid out brick posts. I placed glued timber 100 * 100 mm on the posts as frame racks.

The next stage is floors, or rather, lags. For them I used a board 50 * 150. My wife proposed an original idea with steps, which I really liked and I implemented it. After making the logs, I proceeded to the roof, for which a 40 * 100 mm board was used. The rafter structure was covered with 10 mm polycarbonate, color - bronze.

Then he returned to the floor again. I threw a 38 * 100 mm grooved board onto the floors. After that I toned the frame racks and floors. Racks - under the walnut in 2 layers; floors - oak, also in 2 layers.

What makes a cozy veranda different?

Well, what is a gazebo without a pergola? I got confused with her too. I chose a 10 * 10 mm groove in the timber, inserted a 10 * 20 mm rail into it, in which I also chose a groove with a milling cutter so that they would be inserted into each other, and not overlap. The cell turned out to be 150 * 150 mm.

The next step is to finish the wall. At first I wanted to cover with clinker tiles or artificial stone, but changed my mind. I want to decorate the walls with ceramic tiles. What can you advise me?
