House of SIP panels in 2 weeks (pros and cons): is there a danger, reviews of residents

The technology of building houses from vulture panels passed to us from America and Europe. SIP technology is considered a derivative of the frame. But it would be correct to attribute it to a type of panel construction.

let's consider disadvantages and advantages houses from SIP panels, and why sellers of this material build their houses from timber, bricks, blocks.

pros

Fast erection - the main advantage of such a structure. In literally 2 weeks, a finished house and all this with pouring the foundation! Only the finishing remains. By the way, such houses are given a guarantee - from 2-5 years.

The middle of the panels is expanded polystyrene, which is covered with pressed chips, which (in turn) are impregnated with resin. The finished panels are a rigid structure with thermal insulation properties.

Many people doubt about fire hazard and the fire resistance of the material. In production, the tree is impregnated with a special compound. This treatment does not support combustion.

The experiment was carried out on a piece. They turned on the burner and began to set fire to the tree. It turns black, smoke appears, but there is no fire. As soon as we remove the burner, the flame stops. Wood smolders when exposed to open fire, but does not sustain combustion.

Another indisputable advantage of houses made of SIP panels - even in the most severe frost at home warmly and there are no drafts in the corners. The walls are warm house like a thermos.

Cons (owner reviews)

Since OSB sheets are impregnated with synthetic resins and adhesives, the question arises: harmful silt this stuff? They say that when heated in heat, stoves release harmful substances. But the manufacturers claim that this happens in strictly permissible quantities, which is not dangerous for humans.

Such houses do not "breathe". And you need to make a forced ventilation system. It would be good to take care of air purification with a filter, humidification, installation of an air conditioner and a germicidal lamp for air disinfection. Supply ventilation will cost about 100-200 thousand. rub.

More one significant minus - houses do not protect against street noise. Audibility is good. If the floors are made of panels, then the noise of steps, etc., will be clearly heard on the floors. For example, when a dog runs up the second floor, it will seem like a herd of elephants is running. You can hear everything from the neighboring rooms. Imagine a situation: you have guests, and you went to the toilet. Everything will be heard clearly. Moreover, the floors shake when there are a lot of people in the house.

An acquaintance of the foreman told me that when gluing plywood to the insulation, glue is used, which after 10 years becomes unusable.

About mice need to be told separately. Rumor has it that they like to settle in insulation. They are warm and comfortable there.

On walls nothing can be hung heavy. Don't try to hang expensive TVs or cabinets (wall-mounted) in the kitchen. This is not for such a house.

I made a conclusion for myself - a house made of vulture panels is a temporary house. The walls do not breathe and everything that is done on the street and in the next room is perfectly audible. This is not a capital structure with a lot of shortcomings, alas. Until now, this Canadian technology has not become popular in Russia.
