We fertilize Geranium with iodine in the fall and soon get a gorgeous flowering. And I will tell you how to do everything correctly
Today it is not difficult to find a lot of fertilizers for indoor plants in stores, but how often they are expensive, incomprehensible in composition and do not bring the expected results! And what about folk recipes?
Of course, not all of them are effective, but I am used to using several, the benefits of which I was convinced of from personal experience!
And I can say with confidence - there is nothing better than ordinary iodine for a luxurious geranium bloom!
The fact is that its unique chemical properties act on geranium as follows:
· Activates the production of pigments that color flowers;
· Accelerate the formation of ovaries;
· Contribute to the formation of more buds;
· Increase the plant's adaptability to environmental conditions;
· Prolong the flowering period.
In addition, iodine reduces the risk of fungal diseases, which are known to often affect home geraniums.
However, it is wrong to think that geranium will positively accept year-round iodine feeding. In no case should this be done - this can only destroy the plant.
The optimal time for specific fertilization is autumn, when geranium is in a "borderline" state her biological processes and is capable of the most vivid and necessary way for a grower to perceive incoming to her elements.
To prepare a miracle solution, you will need the most ordinary alcoholic solution of iodine from a pharmacy. You just need to take 1 drop of iodine and dissolve it in 1 liter of water.
Settled and room temperature - because cold or hot "shocks" the plants, introducing them into a state where they need to recover, save themselves, and not prepare for some kind of flowering!
Naturally, all this volume should not be thrown into one pot - the measures of the product and water are given simply for the convenience of measurement. And then - you need to water the geranium with the amount of liquid to which it is accustomed.
To maximize the benefits of the nutrient composition of geraniums, the soil in the pot should be loosened before watering.
And immediately after watering, geranium should be shaded for 24 hours - after all, iodine is a very strong substance and during the period of its assimilation, indoor plants may be vulnerable to too bright sunlight.
For incomparable flowering in the fall, it is enough to water the geranium just 2-3 times, maintaining an interval of 3-4 weeks between waterings.
