3 Plants that can easily grow from a Bone at home even for a beginner florist
Many tropical fruits are not a common choice for home gardeners. Chances are, the new plant is unlikely to ever bear fruit or grow to maturity (unless you have a greenhouse).
However, it can be fun. But I'm lucky! Now my refrigerator is full of fresh fruit, and most importantly, I am absolutely sure that the food is safe.
Lychee
The lychee tree is decorative, but their fruit is the star of the show! White, fleshy inside, sweet and tart. They can be used in a number of desserts and drinks that you can make at home.
Choose fresh, clean seeds for sowing as these have the best chance of germinating. First you need to water the ground in a pre-prepared container.
Then we deepen the bone by 3 centimeters in the center. Like any crop, lychees need light and warmth. My plant started bearing fruit after 2 years of planting!
Avocado
A fruit that many people like, but not everyone manages to grow it to fruiting. And I did it!
A few secrets so that in 3-4 years your own avocado will appear on your bush:
1. Plant in spring, closer to the month of May. And on the waxing moon. Special calendars for gardeners will help you find out the lunar day.
2. Check the integrity of the bone. If you damage it even a little before planting, you will not see the avocado on the bush.
3. Don't plant a green avocado pit. It should ripen among the rest of the fruit. A bag of bananas or oranges will do.
4. Before planting, the seed is cleaned of pulp residues and dried under gentle conditions.
Someone recommends planting an avocado with 4 toothpicks, but I stick to the traditional method. We wrap the seed in cheesecloth, put it in a container, cover with cling film.
My shoots appeared after a little over a month. Now a tall tree stands near the window, slightly in the shade. We don't collect avocados ourselves often, but fruits are tastier than store fruits.
Date palm
Soak the seeds in clean water for 48 hours, then plant them vertically in a pot filled with fertile soil and fertilizer. Cover with a plastic bag, then leave the container in a warm cabinet.
I made sure that the substrate was constantly damp. Condensation on the film must be removed in time. Open the pot as soon as the seeds are germinated.
The first green sticks appeared after 3 weeks. I knew that date palms grow slowly. Place in a sunny spot and repot the shoots 1 meter high in separate pots in a peat-based mixture.
Don't flood the palm tree. In my case, this plant does not bear fruit, but it beautifully decorates the balcony.
