How to propagate a Dollar tree with a leaf without any problems. Step by step process

I am one of those home gardeners who never have enough green "pets"! And acquaintances, colleagues sometimes ask to share something from an extensive collection.

Frankly, propagating a dollar tree is very easy! Personally, I am used to doing this in several consecutive steps, which I want to share with everyone.

And I want to emphasize right away that you need to propagate an exceptionally healthy plant that has not suffered any diseases in the last 4-6 weeks, and has not been weakened by pests.

In addition, the mother plant, that is, the dollar tree from which the planting material is taken, must be an adult - from 3, and even better - from 5 years.

Finally, 3-4 months before reproduction, this plant should not be transplanted into a new pot. The fact is that after the change of "place of residence", the dollar tree is actively developing its root system and, naturally, there can be no question of any full-fledged development of the aboveground part!

When choosing a sheet, you need to take, of course, one that is even and smooth, has no damage and stains.

It is unacceptable to break off a leaf! For cutting, you need disinfected small garden shears. When cutting off a leaf, it is also necessary to capture a small part of the stem.

Even if you want to have just one extra dollar tree, you need to take several leaves - after all, some of them simply will not take root!

Rooting in the ground is my choice. It is better not to cook the substrate yourself, but to purchase it in the store, one that is intended for cacti.

When the leaf is cut, then the cut must be sprinkled with crushed activated carbon - it will help it take root more quickly and protect it from the occurrence of fungal diseases.

A small container - a pot, a plastic bowl - becomes the "home" for the future chic plant. A drainage layer must be poured on the bottom under the ground, for example, from expanded clay or broken brick.

The leaf must be buried carefully and slightly, immersing the stalk completely. In the ground, he should be on a slight slope.

Next, you should generously spray the leaf and soil with water from a spray bottle and cover the container with a cut plastic half a bottle that will create the necessary greenhouse effect, as well as maintain the moisture necessary for the plant air.

Now all that remains is to wait for the rooting of the leaf, periodically watering it from a spray bottle!
