Interior design: an interesting, and little repetitive solution in other styles - wall zoning
Georgian style: the desire to live in luxury
As the name implies, this style trend originated during the reign of King George in England and is the most the general designation not only of English architecture, but also of the style that adorned the majestic and luxurious castles and houses. At that time, the classical style was not yet losing ground, although in other European countries it was actively supplanted by "rococo".
Nevertheless, Georgian interiors combine both classical strict lines and some frivolity of Rococo, nevertheless emphasizing strict canons.
The interior features in the Georgian style include an abundance of mahogany, both in the cladding of the premises and as a material. for the manufacture of furniture and decorative items - a fireplace, traditional for English houses, colored glass decorations and stucco molding.
An interesting solution that is not very common in other styles is wall zoning. So, the basement part was sheathed with wood panels, and the middle was covered with fabric. In addition, expensive handmade carpets were used to decorate the walls, which were delivered from the English colonies.
Furniture in such an interior is notable for its solidity and practicality, but at the same time it has a kind of charm. As for textiles, they are always expensive, but better hand-made - velvet, damask fabric and tapestries. Several centuries ago, houses were lit with natural fire - with candles, torches and lanterns. Today, you can create an imitation using chandeliers and wall sconces in the form of candles.
The decor was all the same colonial items and handicrafts from exotic countries - the finest Chinese porcelain, silver figurines and snuff boxes and, of course, paintings.
Do you want such an interior? Personally, I'm not very good. Prim, boring and even angry. And, by the way, very few readers will be able to implement it within a typical kopeck piece. The Georgian style interior requires a spacious area.
