I wanted to bring notes of warmth and comfort to the home: the idea arose by itself

Completed major overhaul with redevelopment of premises, installation of individual heating, re-equipment of all electrical wiring. For a while I enjoyed the purity and beauty, but creative invention accelerated and could not stop. I still wanted something more. I wanted to bring notes of warmth and comfort to the home.

The New Year was approaching, and the idea arose by itself - a fireplace was needed. In city apartments, it is very rare, since typical housing does not provide for the presence of fireplaces. And it is not easy to fit it into modest square meters.

After all the calculations when installing heating appliances, the battery in the bedroom was in the most prominent place, and the view was rather unsightly. So I wanted to cover her with something. Having unlimited imagination and a dream about a fireplace, I realized that a false fireplace in the form of a side portal would be exactly what I needed for me. Moreover, there were building materials from the main repair. Plus, on the eve of the holiday there was no need for financial costs.

On the weekend, I started to implement my plan.

• I built a frame from wooden slats.
• I cut out the facade and side walls from the remains of drywall. I attached everything with screws to the frame.
• The vertical shelf was cut out of the laminate.
• I carefully putty all the joints, brought out the corners evenly and left them to dry.
• The next day, using polyurethane elements glued on liquid nails, she added a winning relief to the portal.
• I applied a primer, after drying, painted it with white water-based paint.

Since it covers the radiator, there is naturally a warmth like a real fireplace. And instead of a light, I put a salt lamp.

All that remains is to decorate my impromptu fireplace with cute household items. It has become an excellent backdrop for themed decorations. Unrecognizable, its design changes for any holiday.

For the New Year, a tree and boots with gifts, for Easter, a wreath of fresh willow twigs, painted eggs and Easter cakes, for Halloween, pumpkin and yellow leaves. In everyday life, it is decorated with a statuette of an angel, presented to me by children for the New Year.
