Fuchsia beauty - will bloom long and luxuriantly, pleasing to the eye, if properly watered and fed
Unusually beautiful and delicate flowers, as if from a fairy kingdom, an indoor flower called fuchsia. There is even a popular name that emphasizes the magical beauty - "flower of the elves".
There are about 100 varieties of this wonderful plant. They differ in size, structure and color. Undoubtedly, fuchsia leaves almost no one indifferent. And when I first see her, I want to immediately put it on my windowsill.
But in order for fuchsia to bloom for a long time and magnificently, you need to know and follow the rules for caring for it.
In nature, it grows in the rainforest, most often in the shade. Therefore, she does not like when direct sunlight falls on her. But she cannot not receive sunlight at all.
The optimal location is the windows on the east and north side. Or you can just put it in a sunny room, but away from the window.
Fuchsia prefers nutritious and loose soil. Ideal soil composition: compost, peat, expanded clay, river sand. But, as practice shows, fuchsia grows well in ordinary soil with the addition of sand.
Since the plant is native to the tropics, it loves high humidity. Therefore, it is important to spray in the summer, especially on hot days.
However, during the dormant period, which lasts from autumn to spring, fuchsia does not like high humidity, so there is no need for spraying.
Watering must be correct, from March to autumn - more frequent, the rest of the time - vice versa. To eliminate stagnant moisture, drainage must be laid at the bottom of the pot, and holes must be made in the pot itself.
If the leaves begin to curl, turn yellow and fall, then the watering is insufficient.
The optimum air temperature is from 18 to 25 degrees Celsius. If it is hotter, the leaves begin to fall, if it is colder, growth stops, the plant looks lethargic.
Fertilizers are recommended to be applied during the flowering period. You can buy a universal fertilizer for flowering plants. Vermicompost is also suitable, which can be added twice a month.
Alternatively, you can simply sprinkle one tablespoon of bone meal on top of the soil. Biostimulants and potassium monophosphate are often used.
But in any case, it is necessary to strictly observe the required dosages and not mix fertilizers with each other, that is, do not apply them together, do not apply one after another meringue break. Otherwise, this is hello to oversaturation with substances, which will negatively affect fuchsia.
Carefully and carefully treating fuchsia, you can enjoy its beautiful flowering.
