Once I showed a way to fix the workpiece using two wedges and self-tapping screws, but one reader noticed that you can use a clamp for this.

Briefly about the first method

Sawed two wedges, drilled holes at the ends, the workpiece is placed on a workbench with a stop. Then it is wedged by hand, self-tapping screws are inserted into the hole and tightened, when tightened, the wedges are displaced towards each other, which firmly fixes the workpiece.

The method turns out to be extremely simple and does not require unnecessary tools, but if there is a clamp, then it can be made even easier.

Clamp wedging

Decided to try out the way from the reader. And I also preliminarily bring the wedges to the workpiece and the stop by hand.

Fixation by hand

The ends themselves are already squeezed with a clamp, the wedges are also displaced and the workpiece is fixed between the stops, which makes it possible to do without drilling holes for self-tapping screws, since they are no longer needed.

Clamp wedging

It turns out a strong fastening with only one tool, now the part can be safely processed, the main thing is that nothing interferes.

Fixing strength test

Previously, for verification, he raised the structure, holds it securely. Craftsmen, of course, may know about it, but for beginners it will definitely come in handy.
