The largest solar station in the world will be built in Australia, but it will be powered by Singapore

Solar energy is developing by leaps and bounds. And literally every year, now in one or another country, more and more powerful installations are announced and built. But the project, dubbed Australia-ASEAN Power Link, promises to be unique in every way. And now I'll tell you about him.

What is the uniqueness of the new project

In addition to the fact that this solar station, which, for a minute, will occupy an area of ​​20,000 football fields, and will also produce up to 10 gigawatts capacity, it will not supply Australian cities, but will supply Singapore via a high-voltage DC network with a total length of 4500 kilometers.

Note. This farm will be so large that it can even be seen from space.

In order for the entire system to function smoothly, a unique and largest complex in the world will also be built for the accumulation and storage of energy generated by solar panels.

According to the project to be implemented by the company Sun cable, this giant battery will be located 750 kilometers north of the future complex on Australia's north coast.

Some of the energy from this storage will be transferred to power the local city of Darwin, but most of it will be transited over the 3,700 km cable line abroad.

The end point of consumption of this unique project will be Singapore, which will supply more than 1 million local residents with this electricity. And this is almost 20% of the total population of this country.

When will this complex be built

Of course, such an ambitious project requires a lot of financial costs and, most importantly, correct actions from the organizers of the project.

If everything goes strictly according to plan, the complex, which will be 120 square meters kilometers, will be built already in 2023, and the first electricity supply will be produced already in 2026 year. And the first delivery may already take place in 2027.

As soon as the complex starts operating at full capacity (again, if everything goes according to plan), then it will become, without exaggeration, a landmark event, because then it will become clear that green energy can be distributed and relayed over international networks that span truly enormous distances and even oceans.
