What are the benefits of apples, and can they harm the body

Apples provide our body with the following essential elements:

  • Pectin. It improves the functioning of the intestines, cleanses it of accumulated waste and toxins.
  • Antioxidants These components restrain oxidative reactions, thereby protecting against the occurrence of tumor processes.
  • Tannins. They have an anti-inflammatory effect, help the heart and blood vessels to function correctly, have a beneficial effect on the genitourinary system for both women and men.

  • Vitamins C, P, E, B1, B2 are the prevention of avitaminosis.

In addition to these vital components, apples contain minerals:

  • calcium;

  • chlorine.

There is a lot of iron in apples, which is necessary for the absorption of calcium, as well as for improving the quality of blood, preventing anemia. Thanks to this element, the heart, blood vessels and the musculoskeletal system work in the correct mode.

While fresh produce contains the most nutrients, properly processed fruit retains a lot. Thus, dried apples lose some of their vitamin C and water, but retain all other minerals, vitamins and acids. Dried apples differ in their ability to improve the functioning of the intestines, activate metabolic processes, and it is in them that there is a lot of pectin and iodine.

Baked apples provide the body with the same benefits as a fresh product, since during thermal processing, almost all the necessary components are saved. Baked apples are of great benefit for pancreatitis and cholecystitis. They have a therapeutic effect in disorders and chronic diseases of the intestine, as well as after surgery on the abdominal cavity.

There is a lot of talk about the benefits of apples for weight loss. Indeed, the high fiber content makes these fruits indispensable in various weight loss diets. It is recommended to eat green apples, as the red varieties have a higher calorie value. Many women have tried on themselves the effectiveness of losing weight on apple diets. However, it should be remembered that up to 1.5 kg of apples can be eaten with benefit per day, otherwise, it is possible to induce an intestinal upset.

I would like to tell separately about apple seeds. They contain many useful substances, but you should not use seeds, since they contain dangerous hydrocyanic acid. If you accidentally swallow 3 seeds, it's okay, but abuse is fraught with bad consequences.

Despite the obvious benefits of apples, they still have contraindications. It is worth giving up eating these fruits if you have the following problems:

  • duodenal ulcer;
  • gastritis;
  • weak tooth enamel.
