Every year I feed indoor flowers with Activated Carbon
Activated carbon, familiar and available in every home, is successfully used not only in medicine, but also in floriculture. Surprisingly, these nondescript black tablets will be an excellent food for indoor plants and will transform them beyond recognition.
The main thing is to know how to use them correctly. I will gladly tell you about the miraculous properties of activated carbon and about the features of its use as fertilizer for green pets.
The benefits of activated carbon
Activated carbon is an excellent absorbent capable of absorbing toxic substances. It perfectly absorbs excess water, preventing waterlogging of the substrate.
Once in the ground, activated carbon has a direct effect on the degree of acidity, making the ground more neutral.
This absorbent also absorbs gases and metals harmful to plants.
Absorbent-based feeding
Activated carbon is considered an effective natural fertilizer that enriches the soil with useful components.
The use of this absorbent has a positive effect on the condition of indoor plants - they are less are attacked by pests, less likely to suffer from various diseases, develop better and longer and bloom brighter.
Fertilizer preparation features
Activated carbon as an agent for feeding indoor plants is used in "dry" and "raw" form. The first option received the greatest distribution, including I liked it more, since it is much more effective.
Absorbent tablets are used in their original form. All that is required is to divide the tablet into several parts and bury them in the ground to a depth of about 2-3 centimeters. For one medium-sized flowerpot, two charcoal tablets will be enough.
How not to do
Many growers, when carrying out such feeding, simply leave activated carbon on the surface of the earth in a pot. I strongly recommend that you do not repeat these mistakes.
With such an organization of feeding, the tablets will not bring the desired result and, most likely, will be covered with mold.
"Raw dressing"
To prepare the solution, you need to dissolve one tablet in a glass of water and water the plants with the resulting composition.
The effectiveness of such feeding is an order of magnitude lower, since in this form the coal loses some of its useful properties.
Be sure to feed your indoor plants with activated charcoal. Simple and affordable, this tool will transform your flowers beyond recognition.
