Signs say that a healthy plant becomes a family talisman and works as a magnet for money. Nice to know! I cannot vouch that this is true. I just wish every reader well-being (not only material!)

Who is who: understanding the nature of the plant

To understand why the money tree begins to shed its leaves, you need to know the essence of the indoor flower. Then the answer to the question of how to change the watering may come by itself.

Money tree (official name - crassula and oval fat woman) - succulent. The plant locks moisture securely in its fleshy leaves and thick trunks. The leathery surface of the leaf does not allow the liquid to quickly evaporate. The appearance of the fat woman was created by nature for a reason: it provides the main task - survival in arid South Africa.

Interesting fact: In the West, Crassula is also called jade plant - "Jadeite plant". Indeed, to some flower growers, the leaves resemble the ornamental mineral jadeite in green shades.

Why does the oval fat woman start shedding leaves?

The main enemy of any succulent is excess moisture. Crassula diligently builds up the green crown in order to store water reserves in it for a rainy day. But a caring comrade (out of good intentions, of course) waters the pot in the same way as pots with other home flowers.

At some point, the "Money Tree" thinks: "Yeah... Why should I try to grow leaves to store moisture, if I already get it in excess?". And the crown is thinning, and the owner rushes around the Internet in search of a solution to the problem.

Below I will describe in detail how and when to water the fat woman. In the meantime, I can not focus on slightly less important subtleties (but also playing, comrades), a large role in the water balance of Crassula content:

• Do not plant young plants in a large pot. It is enough that the volume is 3 cm more than the volume of the root system of the jerky. Often flower growers are "led" to deceive imagination: they imagine how a tall and lush bush will grow in a huge pots, and they plant Crassula in the size of a bucket in advance. This makes it difficult to control the amount of moisture at the bottom of the pot. The "money tree" will grow into a large ball sooner if every year it will be given pots by volume.
• The best soil is loose. Adding sand or perlite to the nutrient soil will protect the roots from stagnant water.
• But the fat woman's main friend is a good drainage layer, comrades.

Spraying Crassula is useless and even unnecessary. Well, unless you are not an opponent of action for action's sake.

Watering the money tree correctly: will help keep the leaves healthy and attractive

The frequency of watering Crassula depends on the microclimate in the apartment, the age of the plant and the volume of the pot. Try to handle the watering can less often than you would like:

• 10 days after the topsoil has dried.
• Or by the state of the leaves. Wrinkled - it's time to water, the plant has already taken moisture from them.
