The morning was not good: waking up and looking at your indoor flowers, you noticed that the leaves on your favorite geranium were drying up. Familiar situation? It happened to me and my friends. Fortunately, there is no need to panic here at all: there is a way to quickly help the plant.

But before rushing to save him, it is necessary to determine the cause of the drying of the leaves.

There may be several of them:

· The soil lacks nutrients. A very common reason. Geranium may lack sulfur, nitrogen, magnesium, zinc, iron, and other important substances. A characteristic sign of this problem: before drying, the leaves turn yellow.

· Sunburn. A problem that is more relevant for the summer season. In this case, dry yellow and brown spots appear on the leaves, but sometimes they completely dry out.

· Pot too tight. The roots of the plant cannot get enough nutrients and the geranium dries up. Geranium is often recommended to be planted in small pots so that it blooms more magnificently, but some perceive this advice is wrong and choose an excessively small container in which the plant cannot normally develop.

· Incorrect temperature and very dry air. It is very important for geranium, which stands on the windowsill above the central heating battery in winter.

· Excessive application of nitrogenous fertilizers.

· Insufficient watering and drying out of the soil.

Having identified the cause, it becomes easy to quickly help the flower. If you haven't fertilized your geranium for a long time, apply complex fertilizer to the soil.

The main thing is not to overdo it with nitrogenous: they can have the opposite effect. It is best to pay attention to potash-phosphorus fertilizers. You can feed in the summer once every 10 days, in the cold season - once every two weeks.

Watering should be fairly generous, but infrequent: in winter, you can water your geranium every 10 days. Good drainage will prevent stagnant water.

Transplanting geraniums into a slightly larger pot is best in spring. If the plant as a whole is healthy, then you can do it at any time of the year, but you need to take care of good soil and regular fertilization.

Dried leaves must be carefully removed using sterile instruments. If you follow all the nuances of caring for geraniums, this problem will no longer bother you.
