My 5 principles you can't go wrong with when choosing bathroom faucets
The tiles have been installed, the bathtub and furniture have been installed, and the finishing touches remain - faucets and accessories. Let's talk about mixers. Any will not fit, the choice of plumbing must be treated responsibly!
I carefully studied the reviews of experts and ordinary buyers and went in search of the perfect mixers. There were five criteria for selection.
1. Body material.
I took the faucets from brass - a reliable option that will last without breakdowns until the next repair. Brass plumbing should be heavy - this indicates that the walls are thick, and the mixer will not buzz, and over time the body will not rust. Go ahead.
On the packaging of my bath mixer, all the dimensions of the body were indicated, up to the angle of rotation of the handle.
2. Cartridge
Is there a known situation when you want to make it a little hotter, but pour boiling water over it? It depends on the quality of the cartridge whether these troubles will occur.
I bought mixers with non-standard metal-ceramic cartridges. They run smoothly and finely adjust the water temperature compared to conventional ceramic ones. Metal ceramics works smoothly for 7-15 years instead of 4-10 years for ceramics. But in every barrel of honey there is a fly in the ointment - to replace such a cartridge costs $ 35 instead of $ 5-10. Hope my cartridges will not fail.
3. Switch to shower
My tap automatically switches to the bath set when I turn off the water. Therefore, I will no longer be doused with water if I forget to switch the mixer. I am pleased with this system, but it is only suitable for those houses where there are no problems with water pressure.

4. Service maintenance
Imagine that a mixer starts leaking after two years of operation. Someone will try to repair it myself, but I would rather call a master. Or I will apply for a guarantee.
The optimal mixer warranty is 5 years. This should apply not only to the body, but also to the mechanisms. Less - there are questions about the quality of the product, more - it makes no sense. Of course, there are mixers with a 10-year warranty, but practice shows that in most cases this is a marketing ploy. Therefore - we are not!
The warranty period for the product is indicated on the packaging - 5 years.
The service department must go home - otherwise you will have to remove the mixer and give it for the standard two weeks to check the marriage. Can't sit this time without water? Let the foreman come out to fix everything at once on the spot.
5. Coating
Chrome faucets are the most easily soiled. I chose the white mixers because they don't get so dirty. Do not forget that the white coating is fragile, more often than others it is chipped and scratched. Additionally, if the finish is matte rather than glossy, it may turn yellow over time.

In the end, I settled on the German company Grohe. Unfortunately, they are not produced in Germany, but in Thailand. I hope the country of production will not affect the quality, because the brand is in first place in popularity in Russia and Belarus.
